ALERT

Dear Junior/Senior High Parents,

We learn more regarding this pandemic with each passing hour.  As many of you are well aware, schools around the country are closing indefinitely or at the minimum for a few days or weeks.

Due to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak, Haddon Heights School District will close temporarily and move to remote learning.  We understand that the school closing will cause a disruption for your family schedule, but we must take these measures out of an abundance of caution. We will follow all State and Federal guidelines to reopen when deemed safe. The district will be closed starting Monday, March 16, 2020 through Friday, March 27, 2020.

Beginning on Monday, we ask that your child begins remote learning. Students will be educated from home.  On Friday, March 13, 2020, our staff utilized an in-service day to create and prepare lessons in anticipation of a school closing. All staff have prepared two weeks of remote instructional lessons from K-12.

The NJDOE is allowing remote learning to count towards our 180-day requirement for instruction. In the event of a school closure the following is a partial list for general staff to provide an overview.

1.   Teachers will post assignments and assessments for ELA, MATH, SOCIAL STUDIES, SCIENCE, WORLD LANGUAGE, PE/HEALTH, and ELECTIVES using Google Classroom or other platforms.  Each teacher will be required to post for every class, every day. This is required to have each day count as one of our required 180 days.

2.   Teachers, Administrators, Secretaries, Nurses, Specialists, and Guidance Counselors will be available during office hours. Teachers will post their times each day on Google Classroom.

Finally, we want to thank everyone for their understanding, patience, and cooperation as we work through this together to assure the safety of our students, staff, and community.  We will continue to communicate and update our school community, as more information becomes available.

Sincerely,

Eric Rosen

Principal
